FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is Feedwise?
Feedwise is an app that removes short-form video and algorithmic feeds from the social apps you already use. Reels from Instagram, Shorts from YouTube, Spotlight from Snapchat, plus For You feeds, Explore pages and ads on TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Reddit. Your DMs, profiles and posting still work.
Is Feedwise free?
Yes. Blocking on every supported platform is free. Feedwise Pro adds sleep mode, multiple accounts and app lock. Feedwise Family adds parent controls.
How does Feedwise work?
Feedwise opens the web version of each platform inside the app and hides the distracting parts with on-device rules. It does not modify the apps installed on your phone, does not route your traffic through a server, and nothing is permanent. Turn any rule off any time.
How is my login handled?
You sign in on each platform's own login page, inside Feedwise. Your session is stored on your device by the system browser, exactly like Safari or Chrome would. Feedwise has no server that sees your username, password, messages, or what you look at.
Can I delete Instagram and YouTube and only use Feedwise?
That is exactly how it is designed to be used. A few things are limited in the web versions (some posting formats, some notifications). Most people find that a fair trade for never seeing a Reel again.
What if a friend sends me a Reel or a Short?
It opens and plays. You just cannot swipe to the next one. A shared YouTube Short plays as a normal video.
Feedwise feels slower than the real app.
That is the point. Scrolling itself is addictive, not only the content, and frictionless apps are designed to keep you in longer. Feedwise is built to be functional first, not endlessly stimulating.
Something slipped through. A Reel showed up.
The platforms change their sites often. Tell us what you saw and where at hello@feedwise.app and we ship a fix. Rules update without an app update.
Does it work on Android?
Yes. iOS and Android, same features.
Can the platforms shut this down?
Feedwise shows you their public website and hides parts of it on your own device. That is what an ad blocker does. We think you should get to decide what your phone shows you.
How do I delete my data?
Feedwise stores nothing about you on a server. Delete the app and it is gone. Family plan accounts can be deleted from Profile, then Account, then Delete Account.
