Is Feedwise legit?
A free app that logs you into Instagram deserves a hard look. Here is what Feedwise is, what it is not, and how to check.
Any app that asks you to log in to Instagram should make you suspicious. Good.
What Feedwise is
A focused browser for social media. It shows you the platforms' own websites, on your own device, and hides parts of them. You log in on the platform's real login page, not a form we built.
What it is not
- Not a proxy. Your traffic goes from your phone to Instagram, not through us.
- Not a scraper. It does not read your feed, your messages or your contacts.
- Not ad-funded. There is no ad SDK. Pro and Family subscriptions are the business.
How to check
- On iOS, look at the App Privacy section on the App Store listing: "Data Not Collected".
- Watch the login page. It is instagram.com, served by Instagram, with Instagram's two-factor prompts.
- Read the source of our rules. The blocking rules are plain CSS and JavaScript selectors; we publish them.
